Atrial Fibrillation (AF) is the most common sustained cardiac arrhythmia. It may be associated with symptoms, but may also be asymptomatic. AF is associated with increased morbidity and mortality and is a major cause of stroke.
Early recognition and treatment can improve the quality of life and health of patients and may prevent the development of associated complications such as embolic stroke.
