  Abdominal Pain
 

Abdominal pain is a complaint with diagnoses that vary from the most common to the most unusual. The aetiologic causes range from those with benign prognoses to diseases that have devastating consequences. The objective of this lecture is to review the history and the physical clues that lead to generating a complete and appropriate differential diagnosis.

AUTHOR
Dr. Amar Singh is a board-certified Emergency Room physician at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago, IL. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the State University of New York at Brooklyn College of Medicine and served an Emergency residency at Christiana Health Care System in Wilmington, DE. Dr. Singh has written several articles on clinical practice issues in the Emergency Room and is involved in research, serving as the principal investigator on projects ranging from the use of aggressive precordial compression in improving outcome to comparisons of routine radiographs and CT images in identifying cervical spine injuries. He is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians and the Illinois College of Emergency Physicians.
