  Gall Bladder Disease
 

Gallstones occur in all societies, races, and age groups. They are a significant source of morbidity and mortality. Future advances are most likely to be in the prevention of gallstones. This program focuses on biliary anatomy and physiology, various diagnostic approaches and treatment options of biliary disease.

AUTHOR
Karen A. Chojnacki, MD is clinical assistant professor of surgery of Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, P.A. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from St. Lawrence University, Canton, N.Y. and completed her medical degree at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical. Dr. Chojnacki completed a residency in general surgery and served as chief resident at Jefferson University Hospital. Subsequently she pursued an advanced laparoscopic surgery fellowship at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, where she also was a clinical instructor of surgery. Her clinical and academic interests include laparoscopic management of esophageal diseases and the surgical treatment of pancreatic malignancy. Dr. Chojnacki is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons.
