Fully accredited training for nurses pharmacists and HCAs
This comprehensive and practical training is designed for healthcare professionals responsible for administering vaccines and responding to emergency situations. The course ensures you have the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills to deliver safe and effective immunisations while being prepared for potential life-threatening reactions.
Aligned with the National Minimum Standards and Core Curriculum for Immunisation Training (2018), this course covers:
- Vaccination best practices – including immunisation policy, procedures, and patient safety
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – essential skills to manage medical emergencies
- Anaphylaxis recognition & management – rapid response techniques to ensure patient safety
This training provides comprehensive foundation learning while also serving as a refresher for experienced practitioners. With hands-on practice and expert guidance, you’ll gain the competence and confidence needed to deliver high-quality care.
Practical workshops:
Vaccination, Anaphylaxis & Basic Life Support (BLS)
This hands-on workshop provides essential training in vaccination techniques, Basic Life Support (BLS), and anaphylaxis management, to ensure you are confident and prepared for real-world scenarios.
Course Overview Section 1 – Vaccination & Emergency Considerations
This section covers the professional and legal aspects of immunisation, including:
- Consent and record-keeping
- Vaccine storage and safe handling
- Common complications and emergency responses
You’ll then participate in a practical demonstration and supervised practice to develop confidence in administering vaccines safely.
Section 2 – Basic Life Support (BLS) & Anaphylaxis
This section provides the knowledge and practical skills to respond quickly and effectively in emergencies, ensuring patient safety and high-quality care. Training includes:
- Performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on adults, children, and infants
- Placing individuals in the recovery position
- Managing choking incidents
You’ll also learn to recognise and respond to anaphylaxis, including:
- Understanding allergic reactions and anaphylaxis symptoms
- Administering rescue medication such as adrenaline
- Applying emergency procedures to prevent life-threatening complications
The BLS training aligns with UK Resuscitation Council guidelines, ensuring best practices are met.
